I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
